Description
The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) is a public entity set up by the Laws of Malta to regulate one of Malta’s major economic contributors; the remote and landbased gaming industry. The MGA is responsible for approximately 287 remote gaming companies as well as all types of land-based gaming and gambling activities including the Maltese national lottery, bingo halls, casinos, gaming parlours as well as skill games. The MGA strives to maintain a well-regulated ecosystem conducive to its regulatory objectives, which include the protection of consumers and responsible gaming, and the prevention of infiltration of criminal elements, such as money laundering, fraud and match-fixing, whilst allowing space for innovation and economic growth.
